While the building was closed in August, a team of parents and our wonderful custodian, Gus, were busy organizing and executing many improvements to the preschool. The carpet was replaced in the halls and Community Room. We also painted some rooms, installed some new flooring, and made other small improvements throughout the preschool. We owe a debt of gratitude to all who worked so hard to finish all this in just a few weeks. Thank you to our parent volunteers who laid new flooring and moved furniture in and out of classrooms. Thank you to Gus for painting and making many repairs. He works tirelessly to keep our preschool beautiful and in good working order. And special thanks to Maggie Hessler, our Site Director, who planned and organized all the work!
Thank you to the Harry F. & Elaine Chaddick Foundation for a $6,000 grant to support our mission to include children of all abilities in our preschool community.
What a beautiful evening! The Silver Jubilee was a huge success! Thank you to all who attended, donated, volunteered and helped plan the event. Special thanks go to Bon Events, our Development Director, Toni Goehring, our Financial Manager, Shirlene Ward, our emcee, Patrick Keenan-Devlin and our alumni speaker, David Steinberg. Enormous thanks to Susan Hope-Engel for producing and creating the incredibly heartwarming and moving film “Cherryness” to celebrate our 25th anniversary. At the event, we were thrilled to announce the establishment of the Laurie Levy Scholarship Fund in honor of our founding director. We raised more funds than anticipated – approximately $100,000!!! – for scholarships and our Inclusion Program for children with special needs. We want all of our Cherry friends and family to have the opportunity to view “Cherryness.” Click here to enjoy our 25th anniversary film. Please feel free to share it with your friends and family!
